Two JIST Titles Receive Medals at the Axiom Book Awards

Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) March 14, 2008 -- JIST Publishing is proud to announce that Double Outsiders by Jessica Faye Carter, JD, took Gold in the 2008 Axiom Business Book Awards for the Career category. Another JIST success was When Your Parents Sign the Paychecks by Greg McCann which took Bronze in the same category. The Axiom Business Book Awards are sponsored by Jenkins Group to celebrate the year's best business books and their authors and publishers.

Double Outsiders, published by JIST Publishing in 2007, is the first book of its kind to discuss the barriers that women of color may face along their career path and help overcome them. It analyzes the critical success factors of professional women of color, provides resources, and offers insight into one of the fastest-growing employee demographics.

When Your Parents Sign the Paychecks, also published by JIST in 2007, shows members of the next generation in a family business how to take charge of their own career paths, whether it be in the family business or not. It gives the tools needed to avoid entitlement and earn respect and credibility -- whether inside or outside of the family company.

Awards were presented on Monday, March 10, 2008, in midtown Manhattan at the offices of the Axiom Awards P.R. sponsor, Padilla Speer Beardsley.

JIST, America's Career Publisher, is a division of EMC/Paradigm Publishing and is the leading publisher of job search, career, occupational information, life skills and character education books, workbooks, assessments, videos and software.
