Honoring Media Pundits instead of Modern Day Heroes?

We have been watching the TV and what do we see? Second guessing media running crap on TV. They are so desperate for heroes that they are now interviewing themselves? CNN interviews a reporter from the WSJ, Washington Post? Please, enough already, the heroes are the doers, the Navy seal teams, The Green Beret, Special Forces, Special Ops or as Oliver North says the seamen, soldiers, airmen in the Air Force, Navy, Army and Marines. They heroes are not reporters and lime light seekers for the spotlight and ratings to advance careers. They are not the armchair generals or media analyst pundits; some are good, but most suck wind. Give us back our real heroes and lets us celebrate them now and forever.

King Arthur was a hero, but like all myths and actors they are not real. John Wayne was not real, but we loved him. We have amongst us the best in the World. We have scientists who have sent probes to mars, even found the one that didn't make it. Last year we were so caught up in the news about the trial of Scott Peterson that we forgot about the December 7, Pearl Harbor day. But before all this it was OJ, Whitewater, Princess Di's death (actually she was a modern day hero). We had Monica Lewinski and Gary Condit in the news. But we cannot name all the astronauts who were on the Space Shuttle Challenger; they are heroes. Are you seeing a bad trend here? What are we thinking, how can anyone be serious, when we are being bombarded with crap. You know I hear negative and I see positive. But some people believe that crap in the newspaper and what the watch on TV. We have the need as a society for dirty laundry, but what we really need is roll models, heroes and leaders to look up to. We should celebrate these names and individuals; then it will help us find other strivers of success amongst us; those who stand for something and have beaten the odds and gone beyond the norm.

We need to stop breaking down the standouts and winners. We need to stop character assassinating them. Why? We need heroes, America needs to build on their strength not cut them down like we do today. We need to celebrate the individual and the nation.
